What it is
PT-141 (Bremelanotide) is a melanocortin receptor agonist developed from Melanotan II. Unlike conventional compounds that work peripherally on vascular mechanisms, PT-141 acts centrally via MC3R and MC4R receptor activation in the hypothalamus — directly modulating neural pathways governing sexual arousal and desire. FDA-approved as Vyleesi for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women. Research spans both male and female sexual function restoration, particularly where psychological or CNS factors are involved. Used only on an as-needed basis — not a regular protocol compound.
